# Configuration

> The panel's .env options and where things live on the server.

Most settings are changed in the panel itself (**Settings**, **Server**). A few panel-level options live in `/opt/laravelify/.env`. After editing it, run:

```bash theme={null}
cd /opt/laravelify && sudo -u www-data php artisan config:clear
sudo supervisorctl restart laravelify-queue laravelify-scheduler
```

## Laravelify options

| Variable | Default | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `LARAVELIFY_SITES_ROOT` | `/var/www` | Where sites are deployed |
| `LARAVELIFY_FILES_ROOT` | the sites root | Where the global file manager starts. Set `/` to browse the whole server |
| `LARAVELIFY_METRICS_LOG_DIR` | `/var/log/laravelify` | Where nginx writes the per-site request logs for Monitoring |
| `LARAVELIFY_DOCS_URL` | the official docs | The **Documentation** link in the sidebar |
| `LARAVELIFY_REPOSITORY_URL` | the official repository | The **GitHub** link in the sidebar |
| `LARAVELIFY_HOST_COMMANDS` | on (on Linux) | Set `false` to only write config files without applying them (development) |

The usual Laravel options (`APP_URL`, `DB_*`, `REDIS_*`, `MAIL_*`) work as in any Laravel app. The installer fills them in.
