# Example projects

> Try any framework in minutes: Laravelify ships a small working app for each type.

No repository yet? When you add a website, set **Source** to **Example project**. Laravelify copies a small working app for the framework you picked into its own local git repository, then you deploy it like any other site.

Use it to:

* check that your server, PHP and Node versions, and tunnel work before you bring real code
* see how each framework is built and started
* start a new site from something that already runs

## Finding a framework fast

The type picker has three tabs: **Backend**, **Frontend**, and **Full-stack**.

* **Search** looks across every framework at once (name, language, runtime).
* **Pin** a framework with the pin icon and it moves to the top of its tab. Pins are saved in your browser.

## Domain or HTTP port

The **Address** field has two tabs. Choose **Domain** to serve the site on a domain (needed for a Cloudflare tunnel), or **HTTP port** to open it on the server at `http://127.0.0.1:port`. Leave the port empty and the next free one from 8081 is used.

## What each example needs

All 14 examples deploy and answer over HTTP. When you bring your own project, the same points apply:

| Type | Note |
| - | - |
| **Laravel** | Runs under PHP-FPM with the queue worker and scheduler. |
| **PHP** | The web root is `public`. |
| **Express, Node.js** | Needs a `start` script. The port comes from the `PORT` environment variable. |
| **NestJS** | Built with `nest build`, started with `node dist/main`. If `npm install` fails with a peer-dependency error, add `legacy-peer-deps=true` to an `.npmrc` file. |
| **React, Vue.js, Svelte, Astro** | Built with Vite or Astro. nginx serves the `dist` folder and falls back to `index.html` for client-side routes. |
| **Angular** | nginx serves `dist/<project>/browser`, found after the build. |
| **Static HTML** | No build. The files are served as they are. |
| **Next.js** | Set `output: "standalone"` in `next.config`. The deploy stops with a clear message when it is missing. |
| **Nuxt** | Runs `node .output/server/index.mjs` under PM2. |
| **SvelteKit** | Use `@sveltejs/adapter-node`, not `adapter-auto`. |

<Tip>
Backend and frontend as separate sites? Create each as its own website in the same group, and point the frontend at the API's domain.
